Basin Dream Center

Non-profit

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a safe, secure housing option for youth and young adults who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or recently aged out of the foster care system. We work to stabilize their routine and help them find hope and healing.

About

Founded in 2017, Basin Dream Center (BDC) exists to be a safe and secure transitional housing option for the Permian Basin’s homeless and foster youth, allowing them to stabilize and find hope and healing while learning the skills needed to successfully transition into the community as a productive citizen and be able to live self-sufficiently.

We believe all people deserve love and support and that homeless and foster youth should not have to figure out their next steps alone. Through holistic support for young men and women (ages 17-26) who are homeless, at risk for homelessness, or have aged out of the foster care system, we aim to reduce barriers to positive lifespan trajectories. BDC offers free room and board, family support, educational support (high school, GED, college, vocational), employment training and workforce development, a financial management program, driver’s license training, independent life skills training, and trauma-focused therapy.

Basin Dream Center is the only transitional housing facility for young men and women within Texas Child Protective Service’s Region 9, thus serving the following counties. Andrews, Borden, Coke, Concho, Crane, Crockett, Dawson, Ector, Gaines, Glasscock, Howard, Irion, Kimble, Loving, Martin, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Midland, Pecos, Reagan, Reeves, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, Terrell, Tom Green, Upton, Ward, Winkler.
